How trading in works here

  1. 1

Send us the details and photos

Give us the registration number, the mileage and the year, along with photos of both sides, the front, the rear and the odometer. Tell us what is not right as well.

  2. 2

    An offer within 24 hours

You get a concrete amount with an explanation of how we got there. The offer is subject to seeing the vehicle itself.

  3. 3

Offset it or get paid out

If you buy from us, the trade-in value comes off the price. If you buy nothing, we purchase your vehicle outright and the money is in your account once the transfer paperwork is done.

What the difference payment is

The difference payment is what you still pay: the price of the vehicle you buy minus the trade-in value of your current one. It is the only number you need to compare, because everything else is already inside it.

VAT is calculated on the full selling price of the vehicle you buy, not on the difference you pay, even though the difference is the amount that leaves your account.

Worked example

Vehicle you buy
€ 12,500
Trade-in value of your vehicle
− € 6,200
Difference you pay
€ 6,300

If your trade-in is worth more than the vehicle you buy, it works the other way round and we pay you the surplus.

Trade in, private sale or consignment

Trading in pays in speed and certainty: one appointment, a fixed amount and the paperwork handled. Here is how that compares to the other two routes.

Selling privately

What you get
Uncertain up front, you only know what is left once the sale is done
Time and effort
Listing, messages, viewings, test rides, haggling
Certainty
Risk of non-payment, no-shows and later complaints
When this is the best choice
When you have weeks to spare and want to arrange everything yourself

Trading in with us

What you get
A fixed amount, with no costs afterwards
Time and effort
One appointment, we handle transfer and paperwork
Certainty
Fixed amount, paid or offset straight away
When this is the best choice
When you want to swap today without hassle

Consignment through us

What you get
Sold at the private market price, commission only once it sells
Time and effort
You drop it off, we handle the sale
Certainty
The sale is handled, the date is not fixed
When this is the best choice
When you want the highest proceeds and can wait

If you want the highest proceeds and you can wait a few weeks, consignment through us is the better route: your vehicle is listed at the private market price and you only pay commission once it sells.

What to bring

With these six things we can finish the trade-in in a single visit.

  • Registration certificate and the transfer code
  • Service book and invoices for maintenance and repairs
  • All keys, including the spare
  • Extras that belong with it, such as panniers, bodywork, winter tyres or a second set of wheels
  • Valid photo ID
  • Details of any finance still running on the vehicle

Outstanding finance or negative equity

If there is still finance or a lease on your vehicle, you can usually still trade it in. We pay off the finance using the current settlement figure from your finance company. Anything left over is paid out to you, and if the debt is higher we work the difference into the amount you pay.

Common questions about trading in

What is my motorcycle worth?

That depends on model, year, mileage, service history and condition, and on demand for the model. From your photos and details we give you a range, and once we have seen the bike, a firm figure.

Would I get more selling my motorcycle myself?

You only know that afterwards, because then you do everything yourself: listing, viewings, negotiating and the transfer, with the risk of not being paid on top. If you want the highest proceeds without that work, choose consignment through us: sold at the market price, commission only once it sells. If you want it settled today, trading in is the fastest route.

How long does your offer stay valid?

Our offer is a snapshot of the market and applies to the condition and mileage you told us. Decide quickly and the offer stands as given; if you wait longer or something about the vehicle changes, we will look at it again.

Should I have my motorcycle detailed before trading it in?

Clean is enough. A washed and degreased bike is easier to assess and gives a cared-for impression. An expensive detail will not pay for itself, because we prepare every vehicle for sale ourselves.

Can I trade two motorcycles against one?

You can. We value both bikes separately and add the amounts together, and the total comes off the price of your new motorcycle. Send details and photos for both.

Can I trade my motorcycle against a car, or the other way round?

Yes, it makes no difference to us. We sell both motorcycles and cars, so you can trade your bike against a car from our stock or your car against a motorcycle.

Will you buy my vehicle even if I do not buy anything from you?

Yes, we buy outright as well. You get the same offer, we handle the transfer paperwork and the money is in your account after handover. If you would rather sell at the market price, ask about consignment.
